
Welcome to Company A, 24th Virginia Infantry

Company A, (The Floyd Riflemen) 24th Virginia Infantry is a U.K. based living history group.
• We try as authentically as possible to give people a glimpse into life during the American Civil War through living history displays, public talks & battle re-enactments.
• We portray the men, mainly from Floyd County in South-Western Virginia, who made up Company A ( The Floyd Riflemen) of the 24th Virginia Volunteer Infantry.
• They saw action in the majority of battles & engagements in the eastern theatre including 1st Manassas, Williamsburg, Gettysburg & were present at the final surrender of the Army of Northern Virginia at Appomattox Court House.
• The 24th Virginia Infantry was formed in early 1861 & made up of men from the southwestern counties of Floyd, Franklin, Carroll, Pulaski, Giles, Mercer, Henry, Patrick & Montgomery.
